Capital City Mission (Ottawa, Canada)

There is an Ottawa that tourists never see...

There is the Ottawa that so many people visit every year from all over the world - the Ottawa of the Parliament Buildings and the Tulip Festival and the postcards.  But there is another Ottawa beneath the surface: a place where people have nowhere to live but the street, where others live in poverty without any sense of security, where people are hooked on drugs, where people have no hope.  Capital City Mission (CCM), founded in 2000 by Executive Director Tim Meisenheimer, and located in the heart of downtown at 153 Chapel St., brings hope to those citizens of the inner city by demonstrating God’s love in a variety of ways: meals/food bank, a drop-in centre, laundry coupons, clothing, an environment of respect, computer skills training, counselling of all kinds, visits to those in hospital, prison or on the streets, and more.

Reconnect is pleased to be able to support CCM financially each month for them to continue their important work in the city we share.  For more information on CCM, to volunteer or to support them directly, please visit their website www.capitalcitymission.com or talk to our very own Mark Malloy, a member of their Board of Directors.  And please pray for them, too!
