We wanted to keep it short and sweet. Why are we here? What do we want to do? Here's what we think this might look like...
Love God
Jesus challenged people again and again on what it meant to love God - to REALLY love Him. Was it about stained glass windows and well-scrubbed faces? Was it about keeping all the rules, so that God would keep loving us? NO - He said God loved us no matter what - and if we would look for Him, He would find US, and change us for the better from the inside out. We want Him to be at the centre of our lives, where everything connects to Him, and where all of life is lived alongside Him, in friendship, trust and loyalty.
Help people
When that kind of love is at the centre, it should be impossible to contain. We want God's love for us to spill out into the lives of the people in our circles - family, friends, neighbours, coworkers - and we want to actively demonstrate it in concrete ways, not just talk about it.
Build community
So here we are, living the suburban dream - and realizing how isolating it can be. Community isn't about sharing an area code - it's about sharing life together, in meaningful relationships that go outside our well-built homes and bring us together to make a difference.
